Engagement toolkit for commissioners

The Engagement Team has launched a toolkit and series of guides to support colleagues to involve local people and communities in developing and improving services.

The toolkit is an easy-to-follow guide which includes advice and techniques that can be used with a variety of audiences and topics to engage meaningfully.

Paul Bentley, Chief Executive, NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board, said:

“The NHS in Kent and Medway exists for the people of our communities; to do this we have to meaningfully engage with all of those we serve. This engagement toolkit provides us with the most effective ways to engage and we will be a better organisation for its use.”

Engaging with people and communities is a key principle that underpins the NHS.

From 1 July 2022 the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board takes on the CCG’s legal duty to involve patients and stakeholders.

All commissioners should familiarise themselves with the content of the toolkit and guides and follow the processes outlined to engage and keep the engagement team informed.
