A stronger digital future

Today, different services across our area use systems that do not always connect. This can make it difficult for staff to share information and difficult for people to have a smooth journey through care.

We are developing a strategy to build a stronger digital future for Kent and Medway.

What we are working towards

  • We will be improving how our systems talk to each other so health and care staff can safely share information when they need it.
  • We are using data to help us to spot health needs earlier, plan services better and target support to the people and places that need it most.
  • We want to support people to manage their health at home.
  • We will explore how to use technology like Artificial Intelligence safely and responsibly.
  • We will continue the work of the Kent,  Medway and Sussex Secure Data Environment (KMS SDE).

Why public involvement matters

We know that digital services must work for everyone. People across Kent and Medway have different needs, abilities and levels of digital confidence. The views of our people and communities help us design digital tools that are easy to use, accessible, safe and fair.

Listening to our residents is central to our approach, our Kent and Medway Digital and Data Involvement Group, made up of members of the public, is key to this.

By working with people and communities, we can create digital services that improve lives and make health and care better connected for all.
