Cedi Frederick stepping down as chair

NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board confirms that its Chair Cedi Frederick, has stepped down from the role with immediate effect, following a period of reflection and at a point intended to support a refresh of governance as the organisation moves into its next phase.

Cedi has led the organisation through a period of significant challenge and change and has played an important role in strengthening partnership working across Kent and Medway, particularly with local authorities and community partners. Throughout his time as Chair, he consistently championed equity, inclusion and tackling health inequalities, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for underserved and deprived communities.

Angela McNab, the current vice chair, will act up as interim chair while the ICB works with NHS England on arrangements going forward. The organisation remains focused on working with partners to improve services and outcomes for local people.

Chief Executive Adam Doyle said:“Cedi has been a supportive chair and has brought valuable experience and perspective to the system. His long career in public service, and his consistent focus on partnership working and equity, has been important to NHS Kent and Medway. I would like to thank him for his contribution and support to colleagues across the system.”

Vice Chair Angela McNab said: “Cedi has given many years of dedicated public service and has made an important contribution to NHS Kent and Medway. He has been a supportive chair to colleagues and partners, and a consistent advocate for partnership working, equity and tackling health inequalities. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Cedi for his commitment to the system and for the support he has shown to colleagues during his time as chair.”
