Our people are our greatest asset – they demonstrate remarkable resilience, passion and make a real difference.
We offer a wide range of roles across the organisation and are looking for people to join us on our journey to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Kent and Medway.
Why work for us?
There are many benefits to working for us:
We offer competitive NHS pay and, when you join, you will automatically become a member of the NHS Pension Scheme. Dependent on salary, the contribution to your pension can be up to 14.5 per cent of your pensionable pay. The pension scheme is voluntary, giving you the choice to opt out at any time.
We offer 27 days annual leave a year, pro-rata, plus bank holidays. This rises to 29 days after five years and 33 days after 10 years.
We have a wealth of services to support colleagues’ health and wellbeing. This includes 24/7 access to our employee assistance programme which provides services to the partners and dependent children of our employees.
All colleagues have access to the Kent and Medway Wellbeing Information Hub, as well as a fast-track use of a talking therapies programme.
We have a staff health and wellbeing group led by people from across the organisation who are passionate about developing and sharing ideas to support everyone’s wellbeing.
We offer flexible and hybrid working options. Colleagues can work together and meet at any one of our six offices. This encourages collaborative working, as well as supporting people to make the most of the social and wellbeing benefits of working face-to-face.
We are committed to investing in the growth of every colleague.
We have courses, webinars, leadership programmes and coaching resources, both in-house and through national learning opportunities, to help you succeed and develop.
Our annual appraisal process and regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager make sure your wellbeing and development are a priority.
We are an equal opportunities employer and committed to embracing diversity and promoting inclusion in everything we do. We aim to have a workforce that is drawn from the diverse communities we serve. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
We take positive action to support staff who have a disability and understand this may be visible or hidden. We can make reasonable adjustments to help support you through your interview and at work so you can fulfil your role and experience a positive, inclusive working environment.
We have a range of staff networks including our Black, Asian and minority ethnic network, LGBTQ+ network, women’s network and disability and long-term conditions network. Staff networks are communities that provide a collective voice, peer support and guidance. Each network is championed by an executive team member, supporting people to make changes for the benefit of everyone.
Working for the NHS means you can access many offers. NHS discounts is a national scheme that offers discounts and services for many everyday household goods and activities. These include cars and motoring, fashion, health and wellbeing, vouchers, gifts, insurance and holidays. Have a look at the NHS discounts website.
We are proud to support our armed forces community in several ways, whether it is as an employer to reservists, veterans and their partners, or by making sure the needs of this community are considered when we commission healthcare services.
We received the gold award from the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme in recognition of our commitment to the British Armed Forces.
