Thousands of people eligible for winter vaccines can now book appointments as the NHS booking system opens for Covid-19 and flu vaccinations.
Residents in Kent and Medway can book their flu or Covid-19 vaccinations online, via the NHS App or by calling 119 for free. Appointments will be available from Thursday, 3 October.
Those eligible for winter vaccines will receive invitations from the NHS to encourage them to get their Covid and flu jabs. This includes:
- over 65s
- care home residents
- pregnant women
- those with certain underlying health conditions
- frontline health and care staff.
Dr Kate Langford, Chief Medical Officer at NHS Kent and Medway, said: “As we head into the colder months, Covid-19 and flu can be dangerous for those at higher risk of severe illness.
“With winter approaching, it’s important to protect yourself and your loved ones by getting your vaccinations.
“I would encourage everyone eligible to book their vaccines as soon as possible, either online, through the NHS App, or by calling 119 if you can’t go online. You can also contact your GP practice for the flu vaccination.”
Hundreds of sites across Kent and Medway will be offering the flu and Covid vaccines to make it as easy and convenient as possible for people to get protection.
