Thousands of eligible people can now book an appointment for their winter vaccinations as the NHS’ national booking system opens.
Residents in Kent and Medway are being encouraged to book their flu and Covid-19 vaccination ahead of winter to get the best protection.
Appointments for the flu and Covid-19 vaccines can now be booked online, via the NHS App or by calling 119 for free. You can also contact your GP practice for the flu vaccination.
The vaccination programme will launch next month on 1 October.
Those eligible for winter vaccines will receive invitations from the NHS to encourage them to get their Covid and flu jabs.
You are eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine this autumn/winter if you are a:
- care home resident
- aged 75 years and over
- aged six months and over and are immunosuppressed.
Those eligible for the flu vaccine this autumn/winter include:
- care home residents
- adults aged 65 years and over
- pregnant women
- all children aged two or three on 31 August 2025
- primary school children (Reception to Year 6)
- secondary school children (Year 7 to 11)
- those who care for an older or disabled person
- individuals who are immunosuppressed
- frontline health and social care workers
- people under 65-years-old with certain medical conditions.
Dr Kate Langford, chief medical officer at NHS Kent and Medway, said: “With winter fast approaching, it’s important to protect yourself and your loved ones by getting your vaccinations.
“The vaccines are extremely safe and offer the best protection against serious illness.
“Getting your Covid-19 and flu vaccine is one of the most important things you can do to keep yourself others around you safe this winter.”
