Health and care partners join forces to prevent ill health

24 August 2023

Blood pressure checks, mental health support and vaccine advice are just some of the services you can find out about at our marketplace.

Prevention is the theme of the event, which runs from 4 to 5pm at Orida Hotel in Maidstone on Wednesday, 13 September.

Health, care and community organisations will be on hand to discuss the services on offer in Kent and Medway.

Come along and chat to:

  • Medway Council about its 'A Better Medway' services
  • NHS Kent and Medway about vaccines and choosing the right health service for you and your family
  • Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust about mental health support
  • NHS Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance about spotting the signs of ovarian and skin cancer
  • Digital Kent about its schemes to improve digital inclusion
  • Imago Community about its adult and children services
  • Medway African and Caribbean Association about its blood and organ donation and healthy weight programmes
  • Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust about its 'One You Kent' lifestyle support programme
  • Social Enterprise Kent about cost of living support, wellbeing activities, community navigation and cancer screening

Meet the team onboard our health and wellbeing bus and get a free health MOT, including a body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure check. The bus will be parked in the grounds of the hotel from 2 to 7pm.

If you’re attending the marketplace, please come along to our Annual General Meeting, which starts at 5pm.

The annual meeting and our annual report will showcase the performance of NHS Kent and Medway during the first nine months as an organisation.
