Protecting your toddler against flu... it's as easy as one, two, three

18 November 2024

Parents of two- and three-year-olds are being encouraged to get their toddlers vaccinated against flu this winter.

Flu can be a nasty illness in young children, but the flu vaccine can help.

For most children, the vaccine is given as a quick and painless spray up the nose and appointments can be made through family GP practices.

Two-year-old Albie from Herne Bay found it tickly when he had the nasal flu vaccine.

His mum Liz said: “Albie attends a nursery so I was keen to book the nasal flu vaccine appointment to make sure he was protected from the illness. The appointment was quick. I was able to pop him to our GP practice during my lunchbreak. Albie just laughed when the nurse sprayed the vaccine up his nose. It’s completely painless and now I know he is protected.”
